Malepeai gets offer from UCLA

UCLA has become the most recent university to make a football scholarship offer to Mililani running back Vavae Malepeai.

Pacific Islands Athletic Alliance also shared the news on its Facebook page.


The updated offer list for the 6-foot, 200-pound junior: Colorado, Washington, Cal, Hawaii, Utah State, Washington State, Vanderbilt, UCLA.

The Star-Advertiser all-state first-team selection rushed for 1,244 yards and 23 touchdowns on 220 carries last season. It was his second season in a row of more than 1,200 rushing yards. His 43 career TDs are 13 short of record-holder Joe Igber of ‘Iolani.
