Kickoff at 3:48 p.m. at Aloha Stadium. … Damien can clinch ILH D-II title with a win. A Pac-Five win puts the race into a three-way tie between the Monarchs, Wolfpack and St. Francis, and creating a two-game playoff for the title and state berth.

Pac-Five takes the opening kickoff and immediately drives 77 yards for a touchdown, capped on Kainoa Ferreira‘s 9-yard pass to Grey Ihu. The Wolfpack lead 6-0 with 8:06 left in the first quarter. Extra point missed.

A trade of punts follows and Damien has the ball at its own 25. 5:24 left in first quarter. Monarchs will punt for the second time.


The Damien band is playing “The Final Countdown” and so it is for the ILH D-II season.

Jarrod Infante just ripped up the middle for gains of 15, 7 and 4 for the Wolfpack, and they are at the Damien 24. A would-be TD pass from Ferreira to Ihu is called back due to a delay of game penalty.

Infanta can’t hang on to a third-down 12-yard pass from Ferreira in the end zone. Wolfpack go up 9-0 on Tyler Fukuroda’s 29-yard field goal with 1:53 to go in the first quarter.

Damien punts for the third time on three possessions, and Ihu returns it 29 yards to the Monarchs’ 34.

First quarter ends.

A Wolfpack drive stalls on downs at the Damien 21.

On first down, Justice White busts up the middle for a 50-yard gain all the way to the Wolfpack 29.

Kepono Kawaakoa catches blocks from White and Isaac Sagapolutele on the way to an 11-yard, up-the-middle TD run. Kaimana Cameron kicks the extra point and the Monarchs trail by two, 9-7, with 8:53 left in the half.

On its next possession, Pac-Five punts.

Damien driving. Quarterback Marcus Faufata-Pedrina keeps the drive alive with a 12-yard pickup on a fourth-and-1 from the Wolfpack 23.

Faufata-Pedrina scores on a 1-yard sneak and Cameron hits the extra point to put Damien up for the first time, 14-9, with 2:52 to go in the first half.


Pac-Five comes right back to regain the lead on Ferreira‘s 20-yard TD pass to Infante. Fukuroda‘s kick is good to make it 16-14 with 1:28 left in the first half.

Damien gets one first down on its opening drive of the second half before punting.

Wolfpack get as far as the Damien 19 before losing ball on downs.

Monarchs get as far as the Pac-Five 10, but get stopped on four downs.

Pac-Five fumbles deep in own territory as the third quarter ends. Damien’s Courtney Paaga recovers.

Damien has it at the 19.

Next play, Kawaakoa goes 19 yards for a TD and Cameron adds the extra point for a 21-16 Damien lead with 11:53 to go in the game.

False start penalty nullifies a Faufata-Pedrina 24-yard touchdown run.

Pac-Five takes over on downs with 10:11 to go, and drive from its own 11 to the Damien 44. Wolfpack call timeout with 6:10 left. fourth down and four.

Ferreira’s pass falls incomplete and Monarchs take over. 6:05 left.


Damien drives and increases its lead to 28-16 on Justice White’s 16-yard TD run.

Pac-Five gets as far as the Monarchs’ 28, but Ferreira’s fourth-down pass to the end zone drops incomplete. 1:37 to go. Damien can run out the clock.
