GAME NIGHT 9/16: Radford/Waianae

Only two ranked teams are in action Friday night in a seven-game slate scheduled for Oahu.

Radford (0-5, 0-4) faces another tough test in the OIA Blue as it travels to the West side to play No. 4 Waianae (5-1, 4-1). The Rams have yet to score an offensive touchdown this season while the Seariders are averaging 40.2 points in their four OIA wins.

HISTORY: Waianae leads the series in the Prep Bowl and state championship eras 16-3 with 10 straight victories.

9:51: Final score — WAIANAE 54, RADFORD 0

9:48: Skyler Kaleiohi’s 16-yard run after a short Radford punt moves the ball to the Rams’ 9.

9:45: Radford can’t move the ball and punts.

9:40: The Seariders are punting.

9:38: THIRD QUARTER ENDS.

9:37: Waianae takes a 15-yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty and is facing a third down and 13 from its own 32.

9:33: Waianae defensive lineman Francis Kilioni sacks Antoni for a 12-yard loss and Radford punts. 2:12 and running left in the third quarter.

9:30: Waianae punts after losses of 13 and 7 yards due to a bad snap and a penalty.

9:29: Backup Jeris Oliveros is in at quarterback for Waianae. Running clock.

9:26: Waianae’s Devin Cabrera-Antipa sacks Antoni on third down and Radford punts.

9:25: Antoni’s first two passes fall incomplete.

9:24: The second half is underway. Radford starts at its own 25.

9:01: HALFTIME.

9:00: Kyle Corpuz makes the Rams’ most exciting play of the night, returning the kickoff 65 yards to the Waianae 25. Austin Antoni, Radford’s backup quarterback, throws an incomplete pass on his first attempt of the night as the clock hits 0:00.

8:58: After a penalty brings the ball back, Keliikoa scores from 10 yards out. Ebel adds the extra point.
>> WAIANAE 54, RADFORD 0. 18 seconds to go before halftime.

8:54: Radford elects to go for it on a fourth down and eight from its own 32. Wright appears to have been hit on the arm while throwing a deep pass and the ball fluttered into the hands of Waianae’s Donald Willets. He returns it 40 yards to the Radford 10.

8:49: Pontes-Borje goes through a huge hole made by the Waianae offensive line for a 16-yard touchdown. A two-point conversion pass fails.
>> WAIANAE 47, RADFORD 0. 4:44 left to go before halftime.

8:46: Wright completes a 7-yard pass to Cameron Copeland, but on a fourth-down punting situation, Rams punter Chase Murphy is dealt a low snap and is tackled for a 12-yard loss.

8:43: The Rams make their first defensive stop of the game, when Darrellson Masaniai makes a fourth-down tackle of running back Dylan Keliikoa a yard short of a first down.

8:40: On third down from its own 31, Radford gives up possession when Waianae’s Jonavan Valdez intercepts a Wright pass.


8:35: Towne takes a handoff and finds a big hole on the left side of the line and goes untouched 48 yards for a touchdown. Ebel’s kick is good.
>> WAIANAE 41, RADFORD 0. 9:19 to go before halftime.

8:34: Radford will be punting for the fifth time.

8:29: The Rams go three and out and punt, and it takes Waianae two plays to score. Ulu throws his third TD pass of the game. Donavan Tavares beats double coverage in the left corner of the end zone to grab Ulu’s 19-yard strike. Ebel kicks the extra point.
>> WAIANAE 34, RADFORD 0. 10:40 left in the first half.

8:24: Freeney catches a 13-yard TD pass from Ulu in the left corner of the end zone. Ebel adds the point-after.
>> WAIANAE 27, RADFORD 0. 11:53 left in the second quarter.

8:19: FIRST QUARTER ENDS.

8:18: Runs of 9 by Jorell Pontes-Borje and 6 by Towne advance the ball to the Radford 20.

8:17: Starting on its own 42, Waianae needs one play to cross midfield — on Ulu’s 23-yard connection with Ambrocio.

8:15: Jaden Standfield catches a 5-yard pass from Wright, but Radford will be punting for the third time.

8:13: Radford starts at its own 35 after Jonah Soakai’s 28-yard kickoff return.

8:11: Ambrocio takes an inside the reverse up the middle and then to the left for 16 yards and a touchdown. Ebel kicks the point-after.
>> WAIANAE 20, RADFORD 0. 2:18 left in the first quarter.

8:09: Runs of 7 yards by Javen Towne and 6 yards by Dylan Keliikoa moves the ball to the Radford 20.

8:07: Ambrocio’s 54-yard punt return for a TD is called back for two penalties, including an illegal block.

8:04: Unsportsmanlike conduct penalty on Radford brings the ball back to the Rams’ 21, where they face a third and 23. A Wright incompletion brings up fourth down and a punting situation.

8:03: Randy Wright, the Radford junior quarterback, throws his first pass of the night on the Rams’ second drive and it is complete for 4 yards to Ronin Lobederio.

8:00: On first down from the 1, Ulu sneaks in to the end zone. Ebel’s PAT attempt hits the left upright and nearly hits the other upright on the rebound before falling to the ground. No good.
>> WAIANAE 13, RADFORD 0. 5:38 left in the first quarter.

7:58: An Ulu 21-yard pass over the middle to Ambrocio goes for 21 yards to the Radford 15. Another Ulu pass, this time to Jeresalem Tootoo, brings the ball to the 1.

7:56: The Seariders start at the Rams’ 36 after Radford punts out of its own end zone.

7:54: Radford loses yardage on its first two plays, and eventually goes three and out.

7:50: On the fifth play of the drive, Ulu fades back, steps up into the pocket and hits Isaiah Freeney on a post pattern from the left for a 22-yard touchdown. Tate Ebel’s extra-point kick is good.
>> WAIANAE 7, RADFORD 0. 10:19 left in the first quarter.

7:48: Ulu’s pass to Kade Ambrocio goes for 11 yards to the Rams’ 24.


7:47: Quarterback Jaren Ulu runs 25 yards up the middle on the first play.

7:45: Radford won the toss and deferred. Waianae elected to receive. Radford will defend the Makaha end zone.
