Pearl City 31, Kalaheo 0, FINAL

9:37: FINAL: Pearl City 31, Kalaheo 0. Impressive win for the Chargers, who are now 4-0 in OIA Division II play and 4-1 overall. Kalaheo drops to 1-3, 1-2.

9:36: The Chargers get a first down with 1:36 left and are now in victory formation. Taking knees until the clock hits zero.

9:31: Melanio Oandasan picks off Neufeldt and the Chargers start back up on their own 47 with 5:36 left in the game.

9:28: Tupuola-Fetui punts to the Kalaheo 40 after a PC three-and-out.

9:24: Kasey Kikuyama picks off Neufeldt right in front of the end zone and takes it to his own 27. 8:22 left.

9:22: Kalaheo is looking for its first score of the game on the Pearl City 6. Chargers call timeout with 9:10 left in the game.

FOURTH QUARTER

9:14: Pearl City punts for the first time today and it’s downed at the Kalaheo 6.

9:08: Mustangs turn it over on downs and Pearl City will take over from its own 32.

9:00: The Mustangs go three-and-out, but recover a muffed punt. They get the ball back on the PC 35 with 8:38 to go in the half.

8:56: TOUCHDOWN PEARL CITY. The Chargers could not be stopped on that drive. Andre Carter took three carries for a total of 69 yards and Tupuola-Fetui capped off the drive with a four-yard touchdown reception. Khan PAT good. 31-0 with 9:36 to go in the half.

8:51: Pearl City will start the half on their own 29 after the kickoff. A couple of scores and stops will activate the running clock.

THIRD QUARTER

8:33: Kalaheo runs the ball twice and we’re at the half with Pearl City leading 24-0. The Chargers will also receive to start the second half.

8:29: ANOTHER ONE. Pearl City defensive star Zion Tupuola-Fetui blocks a Kalaheo punt after a three-and-out and takes it to the house for a 10-yard touchdown. Khan’s PAT is good. The lead is now 24-0 with 1:18 left in the half.

8:23: TOUCHDOWN PEARL CITY. Asinsin finds Micah Quillopo-Jamile on a screen and he does the rest, taking it 76 yards to the house. Impressive speed on that play, a little reminiscent of Hawaii’s John Ursua on his way to the end zone. Khan’s PAT is good.

8:20: Neufeldt appeared to have completed a pass near the end zone on that play, but his receiver was ruled out of bounds. He has yet to complete a pass.

8:09: With Kalaheo facing third-and-15 from the Pearl City 29, the Chargers call timeout on defense. 7:57 in the half. Kalaheo has only thrown twice so far, but perhaps this gives them a chance to draw something up.

8:02: Mustangs can’t convert on third down so they punt, but they get new life when Pearl City gets charged for a running into the punter call. Kalaheo first down from their own 47.

SECOND QUARTER

7:50: Zameer Khan gets Pearl City on the board with a 35-yard field goal. Impressive technique and distance from him there.

7:45: A couple of holding calls have negated some big plays this drive for the Chargers, who are now on the Kalaheo 30.

7:38: Chargers will start from their own 11 with 8:48 left in the first after a nice punt.

7:37: Kalaheo picks up a first down on its opening drive but not much after it. The Mustangs ran the ball exclusively on that drive. Pearl City calls timeout with 9:01 left in the first.
