GAME NIGHT 10/6: Kaimuki/Kalaheo

Kaimuki is locked in as the No. 3 seed entering the OIA Division II playoffs. This is the season-finale for Kalaheo, which was in the playoff race until last week’s loss to Kalani.

Not much going on with running clock. We move to the fourth quarter after Kalaheo turns it over on downs.

Bulldogs will receive. Kaimuki marches down the field and Kaluna Jr. with a nice catch near the sideline for a 23-yard TD from Solomon. Manu Manukeu is the kicker to replace Burton and he BOOMS the extra point through. That nearly ended up on Beretania. 42-7, 7:36.

Just before the half ended, Kaimuki kicker Richard Burton went down on the field. Not sure what happened but he can’t put any pressure on his left leg as he’s helped off the field.

Bulldogs trying to drive for a score late in the half. A 37-yard run by Solomon moves the ball to the Kalaheo 37. Timeout Kaimuki with 10 seconds to go. Both Seei-Cleveland and Solomon over 100 yards rushing already.

Solomon hits a 43-yard pass to Blade Pfeiffer-Kekoa and then hooks up with Kaulana Kaluna Jr. for a 7-yard TD. 35-7 Bulldogs, 2:23.

Kalaheo goes three-and-out and then Asuega-Fualaau with a 27-yard TD run. 28-7, 6:21.

Kaimuki wastes no time taking the ball down the field. Seei-Cleveland with runs of 12 and 23 and Solomon with a 35-yard scamper set up Seei-Cleveland’s 10-yard TD run.

Kalaheo starts the second quarter first-and-10 on the Kaimuki 14. Fourth-and-11 from the 15. Somehow Justus Neufeldt is WIDE OPEN and it’s an easy 15-yard TD pass. Touchdown Kalaheo.

Richard Moon III credited with a sack. Kalaheo gets helped out by a personal foul and a tipped pass into the hands of Justus Neufeldt for 14 yards to get to the Kaimuki 25. Screen pass to Micah Jahnke goes for 13 yards to the 14 to end the first quarter. Lapera 5-5, 41 yards.

Bulldogs move inside the 10 before a sack by Jordan Neufeldt backs up Kaimuki. Seei-Cleveland with a 15-yard TD run on the next play.

Asuega-Fualaau has a 41-yard punt return for a TD called back by a holding penalty.

Mustangs three-and-out.

Ieke Seei-Cleveland rips off a 26-yard run but fumbles at the 1 as he tries to score. Kalaheo’s Nainoa Abraham-Unciano on the recovery.

Kekoa Alana with an 8-yard reception for a first down but Mustangs fumble on next play.

Jordan Solomon starts at QB for Kaimuki. He keeps it on the second play from scrimmage and is gone. 32-yard TD run for Solomon.

Noa Lapera starts at quarterback and fumbles the first handoff. Naomas Asuega-Fualaau recovers for Kaimuki.

Kaimuki wins toss and defers. Kalaheo receives.
