According to Robert Lau, Taylor’s father, she likes the Pioneers’ coaching staff, academic offerings and the campus and will decide between pre-medical and IT.

As a junior, Lau defeated Punahou’s Alyssia Fossorier in the 6-1, 6-4 in the Carlsmith Ball/HHSAA State Tennis Championships girls singles final.

In her freshman year in 2014, Lau knocked off top-seeded Alyssa Tobita of Mililani, 6-1, 6-3, in the state final.

Lau was also the state runner-up in 2015, losing 6-4, 6-3 in the final to Mid-Pacific’s Skyla Alcon.
