Soccer All-State teams: 2009-17

Kalani's Leo Klink is the only boy to be named player of the year by a newspaper in successive seasons. Darryl Oumi / Special to the Star-Advertiser

The Honolulu Star-Advertiser released its All-State soccer selections today, marking the 20th consecutive year a newspaper has put out an All-State team dating back to the Honolulu Advertiser’s 1998 squads. The newspapers did not put out all-state teams in 1996-97, robbing Brian Ching of Kamehameha of the honor of being player of the year, but the Advertiser did publish teams from 1994-1995.

As we did with basketball, we have put together the newspaper clippings from past All-State teams.
