Much has been made about ‘Iolani ending its drought at the New City Nissan/HHSAA Girls Volleyball State Championships, but the brackets released on Sunday represent a new day in the ILH.

Sure, Kamehameha and Hawaii Baptist are there as always, but the Eagles are joined by Le Jardin and Damien in the Division II bracket.

Those two schools broke through this year, the first time they have ever played on the big stage.

Iolani tops the big bracket, with Moanalua, King Kekaulike and Waiakea joining it as top seeds.

The Raiders get the winner between Kamehmaeha-Maui and Kalaheo while Waiakea plays the winner between Kahuku and Leilehua. Those matches will be held at McKinley.

Moanalua will get its usual home cooking on its side of the bracket, hosting the winner between Kamehameha-Hawaii and Kapolei. Kamehameha-Kapalama and Mililani face off in the toughest first round match at Moanalua, with the winner meeting King Kekaulike.

Konawaena drew the top seed in the Division II tournament, followed by Seabury Hall, Hawaii Baptist and Farrington.

First round matches have Hana vs. Le Jardin and Kapaa vs. University at Kaimuki and Kailua vs. Pahoa and Hawaii Prep vs. Damien at Farrington.

No reporting by any of the TV stations on their sportscast on the ILH Girl’s Volleyball championship….NADA…NOTHING….yet they can report on Michelle Wie coming in 14th in the just completed LPGA tournament in Hong Kong or some faraway place….football……UH and the ILH football championship….I mean, Brandy Higa and the other airhead on KGMB..where do they get these airheads anyway……I mean, last nite on the 5 p.m., 10 p.m. and Brandy Higa on the 6 a.m. sports this a.m….nothing reported…….talk about local yokel airheads hired by these stations…just disgusting…..in Vegas, on their news with sports, all the local sports are reported from golf to bowling to volleyball…in Hawaii…they report on meaningless items…who the heck cares about Michelle Wie coming in 14th…..gimme a break…..

Maybe move to Las Vegas then and you can see all the sports you want. And more people care about Michelle Wie than ILH Volleyball. She has over 165,000 followers on instagram alone. That shows a lot of people care. I’d like to guess is the ILH Girls’ Volleyball had a instagram page they would be lucky to get 250 followers.

At least Brandi Higa and other sports castors have the nerve to do their job and attach their real names instead of insult people behind a computer. Talk about being a coward. You wanna call out people for doing their job, man up and write you real name, attach a formal letter of complain to the news station and maybe someone would hear you. You just sound like a whiner on here.

Nah that’s your job coward. You showed the entire blooging community just how much of a coward you are. Hide behind a name and call out a good person like Brandi Higa.
