Seven ranked girls got it done Saturday at the 51st Garner Ivey Invitational wrestling tournament at War Memorial Gym in Wailuku, Maui.

Three-time state champion Kelani Corbett of Leilehua captured the 168-pound division with a 14-4 victory in the final over Waianae’s Kaleinani Makuaole.

It was redemption. Corbett, a senior and ranked No. 1 in the Honolulu Star-Advertiser’s pound-for-pound rankings, lost 6-5 to Makuaole two weeks ago — her first loss in a high school match since her freshman season.

Six other pound-for-pound ranked girls earned titles — No. 2 Ashley Gooman of Kamehameha (122 pounds), No 3 Nanea Estrella of Lahainaluna (127), No. 4 Jahnea Miguel of Baldwin (138), No. 6 Roxie Umu of Kealakehe (184), No. 8 Waipuilani Estrella-Beauchamp of Baldwin (132), and No. 10 Sami Saribay of Lahainaluna (107).

Baldwin, the defending state championship team, topped the final standings.

Only two of the 14 weight-class finals were not decided by pins. Corbett vs. Makuaole was one of those. The other was at 112 pounds, where Kamehameha’s Haley Narahara topped Warriors teammate Liuakalaik Tengan 8-1.

One girl just outside of the top-10 p4p rankings — Tayler Peligrino-Hayase of Lahainaluna — pinned Waianae’s Tiare Carlson for the 145-pound title. She made a case for inclusion in the next p4p voting.

Estrella pinned another wrestler just outside the rankings — Kamehameha’s Alexis Posiulai — in 1:36 for the 127-pound championship.

All finals and semifinals results and team standings follow.
