Jocelyn Alo was one of 12 new inductees to the prestigious Hawaii Hall of Honor on Sunday night.

By Monday morning, the two-time All-State position player of the year in softball picked up another honor. She is the Gatorade Hawaii softball player of the year.

Alo, a catcher, will be heading to Oklahoma on scholarship in the fall.

The 5-foot-8 senior led Campbell to a 25-5-1 record and the Division I state title. She batted .571 with 12 home runs, 27 RBIs and a 1.449 slugging percentage. The state’s returning Gatorade Softball Player of the Year, she reached base more than 80 percent of the time and threw out nearly 40 percent of baserunners attempting to steal.

Alo has volunteered locally on behalf of multiple community cleanup initiatives, a car wash fundraiser in association with her school and as a youth softball coach.

“Jocelyn Alo is one of the best hitting prospects in the country,” said Derek Allister of OnDeck Softball, a national scouting and recruiting service. “Not only does she hit for power, but she’s also consistently productive and hits for a high average. She owns tremendous physical tools as a catcher and has a chance to be an All-American sooner than later under the direction of an Oklahoma coaching staff that will harness all that potential.”
