St. Francis’ Kip Akana and sons Bubba and Chase Akana have always been together on the football field. The father has coached his sons since they were 7 or 8, according to Bubba, a senior quarterback for the Saints. “It’s getting kind of tiring because it’s been like that my whole life,” Bubba said. Saturday was a bright day in what has turned into a mess of a fall football season for Skylar Kalilikane-McMoore. Kalilikane-McMoore is a junior in high school, an offensive lineman for St. Francis, and he and is family are doing what they can through the court system to get him on the field as an eligible player this season. It was far from pretty, but in the end, the St. Francis Saints are quite perfect. The Saints improved to 5-0, 4-0 in ILH Division II, with a hard-earned 26-6 win over Pac-Five on a hot Saturday afternoon at Aloha Stadium.
