The two new coaches in the Open division have taken the fight to the ground. Just over a month into the season, Kahuku’s Sterling Carvalho and Daniel Sanchez of Farrington have decided to go with what has worked for their prestigious programs, leaning on the running games that made them perennial state contenders. Talk about a feel-good win. Farrington defended its home turf at Skippa Diaz Stadium Saturday night by blanking No. 8 Kapolei 13-0. High school football fans can watch the Farrington football team’s Saturday game against Carson (Carson, Calif.) streaming live. The Governors are making their first trip to the mainland for a game since losing 19-0 to Ponderosa (Calif.) in 1979 with Boyd Higashi at quarterback and Junior Amisone leading the way at running back.
