Dion Chan is Saint Louis’ new varsity boys volleyball head coach and program coordinator, Crusaders athletic director Wade Okamura announced Tuesday.

Chan has 18 years of experience as an assistant coach at various levels of volleyball in the Interscholastic League of Honolulu, most recently at Maryknoll. He has also been a coach at Ka Ulukoa Volleyball Club.

“Coach Dion comes highly recommended and will be a good fit for our school and students,” Okamura said in a news release. “I am confident that his experience and coaching style will bring about positive change and improvement to our volleyball program.”

Chan, who takes over the Crusaders’ head coaching job from the departed John Rawson, is an alumnus of Maryknoll and the University of Hawaii.

“I am humbled and excited to accept this great opportunity to take the Saint Louis School volleyball program to a higher level,” Chan said in the release.
